Bienvenido to “El Mundo Tapas Bar”!
In 2010 Mark and Carlie decided to create “El Mundo”. Based on their travels throughout Europe and Spain, there was nowhere local to go for a quiet drink with friends where the authentic ‘tapas’ style of eating was available. Spanish for “The World”, El Mundo borrows from the old and mixes with the new for a truly unique culinary experience in Cairns.
So what are ‘Tapas’?
Wikipedia says: “it is the name of a wide variety of appetizers, or snacks, in Spanish cuisine”
The Spanish say: “its tradition, its social, it’s gastronomic, it’s not what you eat, but how”
We say it’s sharing! Relax on the comfy couch or chat around the bar while enjoying a range of small dishes to satisfy any palate, otherwise it’s just a chance to catch up with friends and enjoy a great atmosphere close to home.
El Mundo Tapas Bar is located in the heart of Edge Hill on Collins Avenue in Cairns , about a 5 minute drive from the centre of the city. We cater to locals and visitors alike with our very tempting selection of the traditional and the not-so-traditional Spanish fare found on the continent and beyond.
